Romney and Perry: Dual Front-Runners? - NYTimes.com

Romney and Perry: Dual Front-Runners? - NYTimes.com: "Some of the smart money is betting on Rick Perry in the Republican nominating fight ..."

Looks like the Rick Perry decision is eminent and one big reason for saying yes will be that he's already gaining or passing front runner Romney.

Quick Opener

During the run up to 2008, actually during 2007, I made my mind up that I was going to support Senator John McCain for President of the United States.   Eventually he did prevail in the primaries and like many McCain supporters I was early to predict that he would choose Sarah Palin as his VP choice.   I tell this story not to laud over my own failure to choose the ultimate winner, I never wanted Obama as you might expect ... but to talk about why I chose McCain.

After the election loss there was a mass attack against those who supported Palin or McCain, and thus didn't qualify as conservative enough.  This is ridiculous.  Frankly I chose John McCain because I felt he had the best chance of winning!

I have now decided to support publicly Rick Perry for the 2012 election cycle.   Do I think he's perfect, of course not.  I'd love to have Ollie North or Condoleeza Rice instead but they don't seem want to run.   I think Rick Perry can win, and to me that's more important than the hurt feelings of Romney or Bachman supporters.  Let's be honest Romney nor Bachman have a chance of winning against Obama.  I will write more as I find like minded people to connect with.   Till then ... Rick Perry for President
